Ph.D. Program

Evaluation of research and training

Assessment of the student’s research proposal, research and thesis takes place at the level of the department or institute, and according to the rules and regulations valid there. The NeSCoR board reviews each student’s progress on a marginal annual basis. The scientific director of the relevant institute or department is, in collaboration with the supervisory team and the student him/herself, responsible for the draw-up of a remedial plan in case of serious delay or insufficient quality of a Ph.D. project. The remedial plan is presented for approval to the NeSCoR board.

Assessment of the structure and contents of the research program is the NeSCoR Board’s responsibility, guided by invited and uninvited feedback from students or other faculty, as well as from the external Board of Governors which is asked to review the program at least every 5 years.

Assessment of the structure and contents of the training program and the classes therein is also the NeSCoR Board’s responsibility. This is guided by invited and uninvited feedback from students, faculty, especially convenors, as well as from the external Board of Governors who is asked to review the program at least every 5 years.
